Building with Stonewood Homes was truly an amazing experience for me. At a time when I was uncertain of my decision to build, I met the Filewich Family and knew I had made the right choice.

From the design team to the incredible trades and vendors who were a huge part of bringing this dream to life, I enjoyed working with each and every one of them. All were respectful, talented individuals in their craft and I am thankful for all of the effort put into my new home.

Stonewood homes was a fantastic partner in the build of our home. Throughout the one year long build we worked closely with all members of the team, and we felt well informed and confident throughout. Stonewood worked with us in developing the vision from clearing land, installing services,the build, straight through to landscaping preparation! Throughout the design and building process the team shared invaluable hands-on knowledge and insights which simplified and brought clarity to the tough decisions. In 2020, we were looking to build an acreage in Parkland County. With Alberta not being where we grew up, we will admit that we were nervous about choosing our builder. We heard horror stories thru people’s experiences with builders and wanted to make sure we were choosing a trusted builder. Through friends, we were able to narrow it down to three builders. One of which was Stonewood Homes. There were three things that mattered the most to us during our build: trust, transparency and attention to detail. Very early into the interview process, we both knew whole heartedly which builder we were choosing. During the interview stage we met with Gerry, and he immediately made us feel comfortable. He was a funny, down to earth, grounded guy who quickly made us feel relaxed and never once made us feel pressured into choosing Stonewood as our builder. His philosophy was that he only wanted to work with good people who truly wanted to work with him, so there was no pressure to do so.

After deciding to proceed with Stonewood, we were fortunate enough to meet Betty Lou and Brad. We could not have been more pleased. Once again, the feeling of trust was there, and they were so transparent. We spent time with Betty Lou making selections for the home (which we could not have done without her) and it was truly an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Next, the construction began, and we really got to know Brad through this experience. Once again it was exactly what we had hoped for. Transparency & trust were at the forefront and ‘no details ever slipped through the cracks’. They allowed us to visit any time we wanted, in fact they encouraged it. Also, their trades were amazing, the detail of their work was second to none, they were friendly and would answer any questions we asked. They literally shared the same values as Stonewood.

We remember when we very first met Gerry and one comment he made that stuck with us was how ‘building a home should be a fun and enjoyable experience’! From design, to the day we were handed the keys, we can, with 100% certainty, say that this was the case! Stonewood stands behind what they say! They would regularly inspect the workmanship of all trades, and if by chance it wasn’t to their standard, they would have it redone, all without any input from us. They were extremely quick to repair any deficiencies (FYI … which were almost zero), and we also finished the build on budget and schedule!

The Stonewood Team was such an amazing group of people that when we finished the build, we must admit that we were actually a little saddened that our time with Stonewood had ended, and that we were no longer going to be interacting with them on a regular basis. We would highly recommend Stonewood Homes to anyone who is interested in building and would gladly answer any questions from anyone who may be thinking of building with Stonewood Homes!

“Where to begin to list the reasons why to choose Stonewood Homes. We met with Gerry almost 2 years before we finally were able to build our dream home. He met us on-site, told us his ideas on where to put our home and how to open up our property. 2 years later, there they were waiting for us to start. The designing stage was a long one, but we for sure got every detail figured out. Betty Lou was the mother bear I needed during the selections stages, and I felt like she was our friend helping us with our picks or even just confirming some of my ideas.
